Norway-new VAT return format

Currently, where goods are imported into Norway, import VAT must be paid at the time of importation. However, from 2017, import VAT will be declared upon the VAT return, and recovered on the same declaration, minimising the impact on cashflow.

As a result of this, an additional 8 boxes will be added to the Norwegian VAT return for this information to be declared.

Businesses currently submitting VAT returns in Norway should ensure that systems are updated to accurately record the relevant details for completion of the new VAT return document.
